Singer, performer, vocal coach...
but mostly, just Frankie.
Montreal-based, bilingual, and happiest mid-song. Whether you're here to learn, to book, or just to listen, there's a door for you.
My mission as a vocal coach is to help students of all ages and backgrounds reach their singing goals in an environment that is safe, collaborative, and fun!
I want you to leave my studio feeling empowered to make informed, creative decisions about your voice that feel true to you. Whether you're a complete beginner who's always wanted to sing, a hobbyist looking to grow, or an aspiring performer ready to level up, you belong here. We'll laugh. We'll work hard. And your voice will surprise you.
I commit to leading with kindness and compassion. I ask that you offer the same compassion to yourself. You won’t get everything right on the first try. We’ll make more progress by approaching our voices with curiosity and care.
I commit to staying curious about you, your goals, your voice, and how you learn best. I encourage you to stay curious about how you sing. This curiosity creates a powerful, productive practice and turns frustration into discovery.
Growth doesn’t happen in comfort zones. I encourage you to take on challenges, not as a test of talent, but as an opportunity to explore what you are truly capable of. And I will cheer you on the whole way!
I live and breathe singing. It’s the thing that lights me up every single day. Let your passion for singing drive you to work hard, reach high, and commit fully to becoming the best musician you can be.
I’ve committed to a lifelong journey of learning about the voice. I encourage you to be open, curious, and willing to challenge what you think you know. The more we listen to evidence and stay receptive to new information, the more growth becomes possible.
It’s only worth it if we’re having fun and laughing along the way! When we feel safe, relaxed, and energized, we’re more open to taking risks, trying new things, and coming back for more.
Not only is Frankie Kobelt an incredible musician, she is also an amazing vocal coach. I’ve been taking lessons with her on and off for a couple years now, and every time I go to see her with a song I’m preparing, I come out more confident and more knowledgeable about technique. My singing has gotten considerably better since I started lessons with her, and lessons are always a pleasure. I highly recommend Frankie as a coach for anyone looking to improve vocal technique and gain confidence as a singer.
I absolutely love my singing lessons with Frankie because she truly listens to my needs and helps me develop the skills and techniques I need to feel confident in my voice. I recommend her to everyone in my music community because I know she adapts her teaching to each singer’s unique needs, goals, and style. She has a way of bringing out the best in every vocalist, no matter their level or genre.
Until I met Frankie, I had always considered myself an “actor who sings” rather than a “singer”. Her guidance in finding where sounds live in my body has allowed me to bridge that gap. I see our sessions as a sort of vocal therapy, with gentle nudges and useful tools that help me approach any song with increased ease and confidence.

Carrie: The Musical
"Of an enthusiastic and likeable twelve-strong cast, the stand-out, appropriately enough, is the Carrie actor herself, Mary-Francis Kobelt. She conveys Carrie's painful shyness and awkwardness beautifully, then knocks the audience for a six when she launches into her first song, a confident and soaring voice that conveys Carrie's inner power and yearning."
